THERE was another example last week of how not-for-profit aged care provider Warrigal Care is not just committed to excellence in service within its industry.

The organisation operates 21 facilities throughout NSW, including nursing homes and home-based community care.

But it also prides itself on its general business practices and was awarded a gold medal for its reporting practices at the 2008 Australasian Reporting Awards.

It is the second year in a row for Warrigal Care at the national awards, which celebrate excellence in annual reporting and public accountability.

To receive the gong, it had to demonstrate overall excellence in reporting, full disclosure of key aspects of its core business, compliance and be a model for other peer reports.

Warrigal Care chief executive Mark Sewell said the achievement was the culmination of another year of hard work and achievement for Warrigal Care as it strived to maintain its commitment to continuous improvement and quality services.

"The award demonstrates Warrigal Care's commitment to open and honest communication with our communities," he said.
